Out in Arlington

My Cats

I don't spend all of my time as an Accidental Activist. These are my "kids", a huge part of my homelife. Soon after I moved back to Arlington in 1997 I was adopted by McCaffrey, a 6 week old kitten from the local shelter. A week later, Heinlein found me thru a Yahoo personal ad because 'Caffrey (her instant nickname) was very young and I wanted her to have company when I wasn't home. Heinlein was a little older (estimated five months) than I was looking for, but they've gotten along since the day I brought him home.

The three of us were very happy for about a year, then Harper found me at a friend's house. A friend of mine had a purebred Snow Bengal that he hadn't been able to get fixed yet. She kept getting out of the house everytime he made an appointment. Harper's litter was the second accidental litter and I first saw the five kittens the day after they were born.

Here's some more pics of my kids.

Heinlein and 'Caffrey are both rescue cats, which means they don't have pedigree papers. I saved 'Caffrey from the shelter, found Heinlein the day before he was going to be taken to a shelter.

Here's a gallery of current pics plus a gallery of early pics from before my Accidental Activism days. I also have some pics from a third cat I had to allow to be re-adopted. Harper was my third, but he couldn't get along with Dave's two cats (Harper's littermates) so I gave him to his favorite cat sitter. But I've kept some of Harper's Baby Pictures.

I also collect Rescue Stories from other Real Humans who want to share their stories of how they found their special friend. I'm always looking for more rescue stories to add to my collection, so if you have a rescue cat or dog, send your story and a picture to dacoyle@dacoyle.com and I'll add it to my page.
