Pizza

OK, I will admit that we usually do delivery for pizza. But for something a little better than most delivery, homemade pizza really isn't that difficult. And if you don't live near Arlington's The Italian Store, a nearly perfect pizza, sometimes you get better results making your own.

Ingredients:

  • Basic spaghetti sauce
  • Pizza crusts
  • 2-4 cups Mozzarella cheese or Italian blend
  • Garlic and/or italian season to taste
  • Toppings (your preference)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Buy Boboli Pizza shell (available at most markets in original and thin crusts; sure, you could make dough from scratch but the Boboli shells are great so why bother unless you want to show off?) I usually buy two as Dave and I have different favorite toppings.
  3. Make my basic spaghetti sauce, doubling the recipe if making two pizzas.
  4. Spread sauce evenly on crust(s)
  5. Spread about 1 and a half cups of cheese over the sauce.
  6. Garnish with a little garlic or Italian season (optional)
  7. Add toppings. Do you really need me to tell you your favorite toppings? Didn't think so...
  8. Sprinkle a little more cheese on top the toppings, up to a half cup or so. Don't completely cover.
  9. Bake at 425 for 20 to 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and just starting to brown.
